Elena Barmpa

Elena Barmpa (b. 1996, Athens) is an interdisciplinary artist working across sculpture, performance and text. Her work draws on Mediterranean landscapes, combining constructed and found elements to create scenes that move between intimacy, fiction and cultural residue. By bringing together material research, symbolic structures and spatial composition, she creates installations often completed in situ. 

In 2025, she founded bouche solaire, a project connecting fashion and artistic production. In 2024, she co-founded Kompass Space, a curatorial initiative based in Zurich for approaching contemporary exhibition making through lightness, rhythm and poetic expression. A publication tracing its curatorial trajectory, KOMPASS: Elements and Exhibitions (designed by Stathis Mitropoulos), received a merit distinction at the 2026 EBGE Awards. 

Elena holds an MFA from Zurich University of the Arts and a BFA / Integrated Master from the Athens School of Fine Arts. She lives and works between Athens and Zurich.
