Nana Seferli

In Residence: 12 July – 10 August 2024

Nana Seferli (b. 1989, Athens, Greece) holds a BA in Fine Arts & Arts Sciences from the University of Ioannina and continued her studies at École Européenne Supérieure d’Art de Bretagne in Quimper, France. She was awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship by ARTWORKS in 2021 and has been an art teacher in special education since 2014.

Her work spans across painting, drawing, and ceramics. With her hybrid visual language, she weaves figurative and abstract elements, creating paradoxical worlds that contemplate nature, the consequences of human action, and the fragility of matter and memory. At the core of her work is an attempt to reach an abstract realm where accumulated thoughts and emotions find relief.

During her residency, Nana aims to step away from digital distractions, using this period of introspection to reflect on compulsiveness and its impact on daily life and her artistic practices.

Recent selected solo and group exhibitions include: Hybrids, Ampicar Studio, Athens, Greece (2024); Too Little, Too Late, Ilias Papailiakis Studio, Athens, Greece (2023); Little Women, Back to Athens, Athens, Greece (2023); Ammophila Vol.3: There was Land Here Before, Elafonisos, Greece (2022); Athens Art Book Fair (2023, 2022).
